The project „Blackout-Simulator“ Maturantenteams Christian Gerold, Dominik Mitterfellner, Florian Ortner and Silvana Oberhauser the HTL Klagenfurt Mössingerstraße (Electrical Engineering) won in the Category “HTL theses”. In order to be well prepared for an emergency and to increase awareness of the energy problem, they developed a blackout simulation that is accessible to everyone and helps in a playful way to understand the complex connections of the power grid and energy distribution in the background. Users can trigger blackouts themselves via touchscreens and observe the effects on the power grid in the test system.
