The Viennese Prater becomes an open-air gallery

On September 16, a section of the street of May 1st in the Vienna Prater is transformed into a spacious gallery in the open air: 34 large -format work, awards as part of the state award of professional photography Vienna 2025 and the 2025 youth competition, impressively show what the Viennese professional photographers currently have to offer. The photographs reflect the creative bandwidth of the industry – including atmospheric nature, expressive portraits, exciting reports, emotional wedding moments and digitally created visual worlds in the category “Ai Fusion Photography”, which was represented for the first time: Everything can be seen in the street of May 1st).

The exhibition offers the possibility of experiencing the variety of Viennese professional photography up close and discovering professional photography up close-and at the same time sees itself as a statement: it is a conscious counterpoint to the flood of images of everyday digital life and proves that vocational photography has lost nothing in the age of smartphone cameras. On the contrary: it is an indispensable part of the creative industries and an important economic factor in Vienna.
