Vienna (OTS) – At the end of 2023, the Vienna Red Cross celebrated the 10th anniversary of its “Academy for training, further education and training in the health and social sector”. As the only regional association of the Red Cross, it maintains its own school for health and nursing, which produces graduates with a variety of uses. Nursing teaching staff wanted – a challenge for the future
Despite the ongoing interest in nursing training, the Vienna Red Cross is faced with a challenge. “We are noticing fewer interested parties at school and the academy. But we observe that many applicants underestimate the enormous amount of learning and the required ability to think in a network – both of which are needed in everyday professional life

The decline in qualified teachers who are urgently needed is particularly problematic. At the same time, there are too few internship positions available in Vienna’s hospitals, which further limits training. “We could hold twice as many courses, but unfortunately there is a lack in the structural area

Call for support: teachers and internships urgently needed
