The Tonkunstler Orchestra of Lower Austria not only presented its traditional Christmas concert in Grafenegg this year, but on the side of a busy schedule there was also time for the presentation of the new hidden object book “The Tonkunstler Orchestra of Lower Austria is wimmelt”.
Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner was enthusiastic: “This magical book touches me very much, because it shows in a playful and humorous way how versatile our Tonkunstler Orchestra of Lower Austria is and that it reaches people from all generations.” She explains: “From Office to the rehearsal halls and the Grafenegg family day to the concerts at attractive venues in St. Pölten, Grafenegg and Vienna, from the audition for one of the coveted orchestra positions to the Training young musicians right up to a tour of Japan: The Ton Künstler hidden object book shows how exciting orchestra life is and how closely our state symphony orchestra is connected to its audience in Lower Austria and far beyond. I’m very proud of that.”
The idea for the book came from Sebastian Kolarz-Löschberger, first horn player at the Tonkunstlers: “After I looked at countless hidden object books with my daughter Rosalie and she had a lot of fun with them, I thought: a hidden object book like this would also go well with the Tonkunstler orchestra. And it’s true! I am still discovering new details and am amazed at how realistic, child-friendly and at the same time universally depicted my colleagues, our previous and our new chief conductor, our venues. Especially at Christmas time, I am grateful for Daniela Grabner’s wonderful drawings and am happy about the humorous depictions of our everyday life in the orchestra – and so are my children!”
The new 16-page hidden object book “The whole Ton Künstler Orchestra is crawling” was created in collaboration with the department for music education in the state of Lower Austria, the Tonspiele, with Sebastian Kolarz-Löschberger, first horn player in the Ton Künstler Orchestra Lower Austria, and the illustrator Daniela Grabner. It was printed in an edition of 3,000 and was published by Sutton Verlag. It is available in the Tonkunstler ticket offices, in the webshop www.tonkuenstler.at as well as in relevant bookstores.
