The state elections a week ago produced a clear result. Mario Kunasek and the FPÖ Styria are the election winners. A coalition of the FPÖ Styria and the Styrian People’s Party would most clearly reflect the will of the voters.
“We suffered painful losses in the state elections. We not only accept this result, we respect it. The Styrian People’s Party is motivated to enter into negotiations with the election winner, the FPÖ and Mario Kunasek. I am convinced that a coalition of the FPÖ and the Styrian People’s Party can not only offer the greatest stability for Styria, but that together our parties can best solve the most pressing challenges for our country. We saw in the explorations that there is a very good basis for discussion. “This makes me confident that I will be able to conduct quick, successful negotiations on a strong state government for the coming years,” said state party chairman Governor Christopher Drexler.
On Monday (November 25th), the expanded state party executive committee of the Styrian People’s Party unanimously commissioned state party chairman Governor Christopher Drexler to conduct open-ended negotiations on the formation of a future state government. He will now lead this with Mario Kunasek and the FPÖ Styria.
