The SANY 408P electric truck mixer meets the updated EU GSR standards

Shanghai (ots/PRNewswire) Developed and manufactured by leading Chinese heavy equipment manufacturer SANY Group (“SANY”), the world-class electric truck mixer 408P has recently passed the updated EU General Safety Regulation (GSR) benchmark. The 408P is equipped with an advanced driver assistance system developed by Haistar (Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS)) and is the first Chinese electric vehicle to receive the latest Whole Vehicle Type-Approval (SVTA) certification.

Having received this latest real vehicle testing certification, the 408P is now accredited with the five GSR regulations. This not only marks the latest market entry approval for SANY’s electric truck mixers in the European Union, but will also accelerate SANY’s global development plan and consolidate its leading position in the electric vehicle sector.

The test certificate was created under the supervision of TÜV Rheinland, a leading technical service provider. The test results showed that the SANY 408P electric mixer truck is safe and reliable and meets EU regulations and standards. The test also showed that the Haistar ADAS is highly adaptable and has strong expandability, which can also be applied to other models.

The EU GSR was introduced in 2019 to improve the protection of vehicle occupants and vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and cyclists, thereby reducing the number of road accidents and casualties by ensuring a higher level of vehicle safety. According to the latest update, which comes into force in July 2024, all commercial vehicles registered in the EU must be equipped with appropriate ADAS functions.

The SANY 408P electric mixer truck has passed five GSR-ADAS functions, including Moving Off Information System (MOIS), Blind Spot Information System (BSIS), Reversing Information System (REIS), Intelligent Speed Assist (ISA) and Driver Drowsiness & Alertness Warning (DDAW).

The ISA is intended to warn the driver to slow down if speeding is detected. SANY’s ISA system has been road tested for more than 6,000 km in 10 EU countries. 431 kilometers were covered on the road and scenarios in the city, in the village, on the highway and more were covered. The detection accuracy in a single scenario is over 90 percent, and the overall accuracy reaches 96 percent.

DDAW often monitors the driver’s facial features, eye movements and head movements based on physiological imaging to determine whether the driver is fatigued and to send alerts or take other appropriate actions.

The MOIS, which was also tested, monitors and informs the driver about pedestrians and cyclists in the front blind spot of the vehicle, the BSIS pays attention to collision risks in the right blind spot of trucks or buses when turning, and the REIS supports parking to avoid collisions with a real-time Rear view video.

“Looking forward, SANY will drive the development of our international markets, enable advances in digital intelligence and promote low-carbon operations to provide global customers with high quality, safer, more reliable and smarter products,” said Yu Hongfu, Chief Executive Officer of SANY Heavy Industry.
