The “Radio NÖ Brass Music Contest” |  ORF regional studio Lower Austria, April 2nd, 2024

Voting begins on April 8, 2024

St. Pölten (OTS) 26 brass bands from all parts of Lower Austria rehearsed, filmed and sent a video. Radio NÖ is looking for the country’s most popular band at the largest brass music competition in Lower Austria. The overall winner wins a two-day professional sound recording in Radio Lower Austria quality.

The bands will be presented on Radio NÖ for three weeks and everyone is invited to vote for his or her favorite. Voting begins on Monday, April 8th at 5:00 a.m. You can vote online until Friday (April 12) at 5 p.m. The next day on April 13th, the winner of the first week of evaluation will be announced on Radio NÖ. To take part, the bands recorded a Lower Austrian radio hit in a brass music version.

“We are very happy about the many bands taking part in the brass music contest. This campaign also shows how well Radio NÖ is anchored throughout the country and enjoys trust,” says Radio NÖ program director Karl Trahbüchler. Whoever wins the first “brass music contest” can be heard on Monday, April 29th, after 7 a.m. on “Guten Morgen NÖ” on Radio NÖ.

The first week of scoring:
Voting runs from April 8th at 5:00 a.m. to April 12th at 5:00 p.m. on noe.ORF.at. The Amstetten city band, the Eichgraben-Maria Anzbach music association (St. Pölten district), the Engabrunn music association (Krems-Land district), the Grenzlandkapelle Hardegg (Hollabrunn district), the Höflein music association (Bruck an der Leitha district), the Lunz am See music club (Scheibbs district), the Randegg music club (Scheibbs district), the Trattenbach music club (Neunkirchen district) and the Waidhofen an der Thaya wind orchestra. The winner of the first week of the competition will be announced on April 13th after 7:00 a.m. on Radio NÖ.

The second week of scoring:
Voting runs from April 15th at 5:00 a.m. to April 19th at 5:00 p.m. on noe.ORF.at. The Melk town band, the Münichreither traditional costume musicians (Melk district), the Pernegg youth music band (Horn district), the Pernitz music band (Wr. Neustadt-Land district), the Pyhra music association (St. Pölten-Land district), the St .Pantaleon (Amstetten district), the Stockerau rifle band (Korneuburg district), the Traismauer music association (St. Pölten-Land district) and the Waidmannsfeld music band (Wr. Neustadt-Land district). The winner of the second week of the competition will be announced on April 20th after 7:00 a.m. on Radio NÖ.

The third week of scoring:
Voting runs from April 22nd at 5 a.m. to April 26th at 5 p.m. on noe.ORF.at. The Brunn am Gebirge traditional band (Mödling district), the Feistritz am Wechsel traditional band (Neunkirchen district), the Erste Gänserndorfer Musikverein, the Hilm-Kematen music association (Amstetten district), the Langau band (Horn district), the Langenlois town band ( Krems-Land district), the Mauer music band (Melk district) and the St. Georgen in der Klaus traditional music band (Waidhofen an der Ybbs). The winner of the third week of the competition will be announced on April 27th after 7:00 a.m. on Radio NÖ. Whoever has collected the most votes in all three weeks, i.e. becomes the winner of the “Brass Music Contest”, can be heard on Monday, April 29th after 7:00 a.m. on Radio NÖ.
