Vienna (OTS) – It is an event that has become an integral part of Vienna’s event calendar: The Vienna New Year’s Eve Trail is taking place for the 32nd time this year and once again invites you to the city center on the last day of the year, where hundreds of thousands of visitors celebrate the turn of the year euphorically, exuberantly and peacefully will celebrate.
80 hours of program at eight locations
A colorful and diverse music and entertainment program provides the perfect setting for the event. The New Year’s Eve Trail 2023 covers a total of eight locations over a length of almost 2 kilometers, which once again lead along several stages across the first district and to the Ferris wheel square in the Prater.
Partygoers can look forward to more than 80 hours of program with free entry, as the celebrations start at 2 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.

Culinary accompaniment at all locations
More than two dozen restaurateurs will ensure your physical well-being during the event. The culinary offering, which also includes vegan options, includes sausages, hot dogs, potato goulash, raclette, filled rolls, baked potatoes, wraps, burgers, dumplings and much more.
A variety of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks are offered, including sparkling wine, to give a sparkling welcome to the New Year.

Rathausplatz – Falco Tribute & spectacular laser show
After a year-long break, the town hall square is again part of the event concept. The stage, which will be open from 10 p.m., is set up in the middle of the square this year, as preparations for the Vienna Ice Dream are already being made in front of the town hall. In order to enable more guests to celebrate, the Ringstrasse will be closed in this area from 10 p.m.
The program couldn’t be more top-class. After star DJ Alex List New Year’s Eve trail visitors can join in „FALCO – IN CONCERT“ can look forward to a first-class live show in which the great, exceptional Austrian musician will be paid proper tribute. In sync with the artist’s legendary performance recordings, Falco’s original band brings many of his best-known numbers to the big stage. For the sake of people, animals and the environment, the city of Vienna has deliberately decided not to have fireworks at midnight since last year. Instead of big pyrotechnic performances, visitors to the New Year’s Eve Trail can look forward to an opulent one at the turn of the year Laser show set. The eight-minute light spectacle starts at midnight, is perfectly synchronized to Strauss’ Danube Waltz sounds and is able to leave lasting memories for all viewers.
Freyung – pop, rock, disco
At Freyung, the BAD POWELLS, the Free Men Singers and The Solomons present timeless music that encompasses different genres.
While the BAD POWELLS Known for their perfectly arranged disco classics, which impress with love for the original and maximum danceability, the band consists of three talented musicians Free Men Singers with a musical journey through time through the guitar pop rock of the 60s, 70s and 80s. In addition, heat The Solomons, DJ Steve Manera and DJ T-JAH the celebratory mood at the court increased strongly.

Tha Family completes the program at the court and shows a lot of joy with their soul-pop-rock show.
Graben – dance courses in Europe’s largest ballroom
It’s a long-standing tradition: on New Year’s Eve, the Graben has been transformed into Europe’s largest ballroom for many years, and this was the case this time too.
Die Schwebach Dance School invites everyone interested to last-minute dance classes in the open air from the early afternoon. A popular program highlight that not only promises a lot of fun, but also ensures that the waltz steps are perfect at midnight!
Stephansplatz – waltz and big band sounds
In front of the impressive backdrop of St. Stephen’s Cathedral, visitors start the new year with vigor.
The start is once again Schwebach Dance School, which invites its audience to participate. That too Bernd Fröhlich Orchestra guarantees full dance floors and an exuberant atmosphere. Together with special guests Tini Kainrath and Sabine Stieger, they play swing, ballroom and party.
Hope Will Lead has dedicated itself entirely to experimental pop and, in addition to sensitive original compositions, presents a variety of rousing contemporary hits. The young band is accompanied by a musician with powerful vocals Leelah Sky.
The Original Wiener Salon Ensemble takes the audience into the enchanting world of operetta and waltz melodies and offers a lively selection of well-known melodies.
Kärntner Straße – Latin & Italo
On Kärntner Straße, people celebrate with the biggest hits that go straight from the ear to the legs and shake into the new year to the sounds of DJs. From rhythmic Latin beats to Italo disco hits, there is everything you need for the perfect New Year’s Eve. The celebratory atmosphere on Kärntner Straße is created by some of the most renowned Radio and disco DJs of the country that serve a first-class musical experience.
New Market – Boogie Woogie, Rock’n’Roll, Hillbilly
Die “Hallo OKIDOKI”Stars including Christina Karnicnik, Robert Steiner, “Kater Kurt” and the “ABC Bear” accompany children on the last day of the year and shorten the waiting time until midnight. The kids pop band “Young Republic” provides entertainment live on stage.
In the Piano Man Show provides Mario Pecoraro with an energetic performance of numerous piano classics, including songs by Billy Joel, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Nat King Cole and Udo Jürgens.
“The Rockin’ Three” offer absolute top musical quality and take the audience on a diverse journey through rock’n’roll, pop, soul and gospel.
Winter market at Riesenradplatz in the Prater – “Let’s Party & Dance”
At the turn of the year, visitors to the winter market at the Riesenradplatz in the Prater can look forward to a very special New Year’s Eve highlight. From 11 a.m. you can get in the mood at the winter market with hot drinks, delicacies and Prater fun. It heats up from 8 p.m DJ R. Simon everyone. Later worry Sam Brisbe & Tinderbox including guests with pop, soul and reggae rhythms for an atmospheric and energetic New Year’s Eve.
New Year’s concert live at Stephansplatz and Riesenradplatz

The Vienna Philharmonic’s traditional New Year’s concert will be broadcast live on January 1st at Stephansplatz and the winter market at Riesenradplatz in the Prater. From 11:15 a.m., visitors can listen to the sounds of the world-famous orchestra under the direction of Christian Thielemann in the open air.
