Vienna (OTS) – A new European Parliament will be elected on June 9th. The ORF is presenting a comprehensive focus in advance (details available at presse.ORF.at). But how does the EU Parliament actually work? What is it responsible for? Why can’t it pass laws on its own? How is it different from the parliament in Vienna? How do you work in 24 different languages? And why do more than 700 MPs, their staff and several trucks full of documents have to move every few weeks, even though (almost) everyone thinks it’s unnecessary?
Political scientist Peter Filzmaier and “ZIB 2” anchor Armin Wolf answer all of this and more in the latest episode of their popular FM4/ZIB-2 podcast “The Professor and the Wolf” on the EU election. From Monday, May 13th, the broadcast will be available on FM4 and online from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. and afterwards as a podcast.
