Apprentices are particularly in demand for the profession of local and distribution logistics specialist. This apprenticeship is currently being modernized and will be launched in September 2025 as an apprenticeship as a letter and parcel logistics specialist. The post office is also looking for young people to become retail clerks with two main areas to choose from – general retail or telecommunications. Colorful teaching with attractive rewards and goodies
Swiss Post offers future-proof training in a modern working environment and enables apprenticeships leading to a high school diploma. Apprentices who stay with the company for two years after graduating will have their driving license paid for. Depending on the year of apprenticeship, the apprentice’s income is between 1,000 and 1,840 euros gross per month. Exciting teaching opportunities in all federal states
Swiss Post is currently looking for apprenticeships in the following five positions:
- Local and distribution logistics specialist (probably appears as a letter and parcel logistician)
- Office clerk*man
- Retail clerk with a focus on general retail
- Retail clerk with a focus on telecommunications
- Electrical engineer
The Swiss Post’s extensive range of courses includes a total of eight apprenticeships. Additionally, training to become a business logistics clerk, an IT system technician and a real estate clerk is currently underway.
Modernized: Teaching in letter and parcel logistics
The course to become a local and distribution logistics specialist will be modernized, optimized in terms of content and will come with new momentum and exciting knowledge from autumn 2025 as an apprenticeship in letter and parcel logistics. In this apprenticeship, young people learn the entire process chain of letters, parcels and advertising mail directly in delivery bases and logistics centers, with a focus on the last mile. The focus is on the coordination of sorting processes, quantity and condition checks when accepting shipments, the preparation of shipments for further processing and the operation of sorting and conveyor systems. Organizational activities such as personnel deployment, quality management, participation in projects and the determination of logistical key figures are also included. The young people also receive personality-building training.
Apprenticeship in retail – two focus areas to choose from
During the three-year apprenticeship to become a retail clerk, the apprentices work in the Austrian Post branch network. Social interaction and professional competence are the order of the day. In everyday life, we advise customers on shipping rates and sell telecommunications products and postal merchandise. With comprehensive communication and sales training under your belt, there are exciting career opportunities in the branch network.
