The Pensioners Association of Austria mourns the loss of Dr. Peter Kostelka

Deep grief and great dismay in the Pensioners’ Association of Austria (PVÖ) are about the completely surprising death of PVÖ President Dr. Peter Kostelka.

Peter Kostelka, who had been at the head of the Pensioners’ Association of Austria since 2018, was the strong voice of the older generation in this country. With tireless efforts, whole strength and always out of the deepest conviction, he represented the interests of the pensioners with strength, but also with great empathy, respect and empathy.

Always connecting before separating

Already in his activities, among other things, as State Secretary and club chairman of the SPÖ and as a public prosecutor, Peter Kostelka not only presented the connecting before the separating person in discussions, it always tried to find a consensus in the interest of the socially weaker. When it came to avert impending pension cuts or deterioration for the older generation in this country, he stepped towards these request with full strength and strength. Through his negotiating skills, his great eloquence and his assertiveness, he succeeded in enforcing numerous improvements for the older generation, but also for their relatives as PVÖ President and President of the Austrian Senior Council. A great professional and personal goal of Kostelka was to end age discrimination in Austria. Here Kostelka was able to enforce significant improvements through a law that prohibits banks to deny people due to their age.

In the pensioners’ association of Austria, Peter Kostelka leaves a large gap – no, a huge hole – professionally, but also human and personally. The PVÖ not only lost its president, but also an esteemed and beloved fellow campaigner and friend. Peter Kostelka will always remain unforgettable in the pensioner association.
