From 23 to February 24, 2025, a meeting of the joint parliamentary control committee for Europol in Warsaw will take place as part of the Polish EU Council Presidency. From the Austrian Parliament, MPs Werner Herbert, Reinhold Maier (both FPÖ) and Maximilian Köllner (SPÖ) and Federal Councilor Harald Himmer (ÖVP) will take part. At the conference, the topics of combating drug trade in Europe, fight against the sexual exploitation of children online and offline as well as European activities in connection with the war in Ukraine are on the program.

9 a.m.: The second working session of the National Council this year starts with a current hour for which the NEOs can select the topic. This is followed by a current European lesson (topic selection by the ÖVP). In addition, the MPs will deal with a novella on the Financial Criminal Act and the Financial Criminal Labor Act. An EU directive is to be implemented with the government template for which the budget committee unanimously gave the green light. The aim is to improve the EU-wide cooperation between law enforcement agencies for contraception, discovery or investigation of financial offenses. The parliamentary factions have also agreed to choose the choice of the remaining specialist committees – from the Committee on Labor and Social Affairs to the Committee on Science, Research and Digitization.
