An overview of the highlights of the ORF Lower Austria summer program 2024
St. Pölten (OTS) – Shortly after the start of the summer holidays, the ORF-NÖ summer tour begins. 30 places show how you can spend the summer there and what makes the community worth living in. “We talk about the weather” – Christa Kummer explains the most common weather phenomena and gets to the bottom of farm rules. This year too, ORF Lower Austria is reporting on the major cultural events in the country in all of its media. In “NÖ Today” we talk to the party leaders of the parties represented in the state parliament at the political summer talks about the most important issues before the National Council elections in September. 30 PLACES IN 30 DAYS – THE ORF NÖ SUMMER TOUR
From July 8th to August 16th, Monday to Friday on Radio Niederösterreich, in “NÖ aktuell” and on noe.ORF.at
In “NÖ TODAY” Missy May and Rudi Roubinek tour the state and show the special features of the communities and what you can experience in Lower Austria in summer. Missy May is accompanied by ORF-NÖ reporter Thomas Koppensteiner, Rudi Roubinek by ORF-NÖ reporter Birgit Brunner. The two teams alternate each week. Can be seen in “NÖ today” at 7 p.m., ORF2/N. Every Friday there is also a public challenge for the respective community.
Radio NÖ broadcasts live from Monday to Friday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. from the summer tour bus – the mobile radio studio where you can watch the presenters Tanja Karssemeijer, Jenny Frank and Ursula Pucher as well as the presenters David Pearson and Clemens Krautzer “doing the radio”. . Visitors can also try out for themselves how it works and start a summer hit on the mixer or speak the weather report into the microphone.
On the summer tour, the Radio Lower Austria reporters explore the most beautiful excursion destinations in Lower Austria – on land, on water and at lofty heights. The summer tour bus also hosts artists, craftsmen and people who are active in the summer tour communities and tell us what’s going on in their area.

OLYMPICS IN ORF LOWER AUSTRIA
Radio NÖ will report in detail from the Summer Olympics in Paris from July 26th to August 11th. With daily Olympic headlines from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and live reports with particular attention to the performances of the athletes from Lower Austria. From July 22nd to 26th, all participants from Lower Austria will be presented in “NÖ aktuell” and on noe.ORF.at. Before their first appearance at the Olympics, portraits can also be heard on Radio NÖ.
THEATER FESTIVAL LOWER AUSTRIA
Every Saturday until August 10th, ORF NÖ will report on the musical, opera, operetta and theater premieres of all 20 venues of the Lower Austria Theater Festival in its own series after “NÖ aktuell”. There will also be the “Theaterfest For Kids” edition on Friday, July 5th. Background reports, interviews and reports can also be seen. There are also previews of the productions on Radio NÖ and noe.ORF.at.
SUMMER IN A GLASS – Cooking, pickling, preserving

Homemade things are in vogue, good old canning is more popular than ever. Radio Lower Austria chef Andrea Karrer shows step by step how the fabulous aroma of cucumbers, tomato tomatoes, apricots and other summer fruits is captured in glasses. The scents and tastes of hot summer days accompany us through the course of the year in a pleasurable way. To be heard from 6th to 27th. Why does sunset mean tomorrow will be beautiful? Conversely, dawn heralds rain. What is behind such farming rules and can they be scientifically understood? Christa Kummer talks to us about the most common weather phenomena and how they arise and gets to the bottom of farming rules. Win the Radio NÖ summer party
From July 19th to August 23rd, every Friday after 11 on Radio NÖ
You invite friends and relatives and turn on the grill – the rest comes from Radio NÖ. Whoever wins a “Radio NÖ Summer Party” will receive drinks, grilled food, salads, pastries and dishes for ten people. There is a parasol on top. From July 19th to August 23rd there are a total of six “summer parties” to win on Radio NÖ every Friday between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m.
Two is Better
The couples quiz on “That starts well” – on August 26th on Radio NÖ
Four couples get the chance to answer the questions correctly together in the Monday quiz. We are looking for married couples, siblings or even friends. On August 26th, all four Radio NÖ broadcasts will say “It’s starting well” – this time in a double pack. From “Guten Morgen NÖ” to “Radioclub”.
LIVE CONCERTS ON RADIO NÖ: From classical to Austropop
The Domplatz Open-Air will take place in St. Pölten on July 5th. Tonkunstler & Friends: China Moses/Myles Sanko & Best-of Bernstein. Under the direction of Garrett Keast, the Tonkunstler-Orchester Niederösterreich plays a best-of of Leonard Bernstein’s works. Also on stage are American singer China Moses and British soul and jazz singer Myles Sanko. Radio NÖ will broadcast the concert after 8 p.m.
At the Purkersdorf Open-Air on August 31st, the Purkersdorf Allstars and WIR4plusEINS will be on stage with Wolfgang Ambros. Special guests are Boris Bukowski, Christian Kolonovits and Christoph Seiler. Radio NÖ will broadcast the concert after 8 p.m
THE FESTIVAL AUGUST
Grafenegg Festival
This year the festival will take place from August 16th to September 8th. This season, ORF NÖ is also accompanying the Grafenegg Festival with reports in “NÖ aktuell”, on Radio Niederösterreich and on noe.ORF.at. The opening concert can be heard on Radio NÖ on August 18th from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Frequency Festival
ORF NÖ also reports on the Frequency in St. Pölten in all of its media. The music festival is taking place this year from 15th to 17th. National and international rock and pop greats will be back on stage in August.
THE POLITICAL SUMMER TALKS
From August 20th to 30th, 2024 in “NÖ aktuell”, 7 p.m., ORF 2/N
In the ORF Lower Austria’s political summer discussions, the party leaders of the parties represented in the state parliament comment on current state political issues and also look ahead to the upcoming National Council election at the end of September. The summer talks will be broadcast from August 20th to 30th on ORF 2/N in “NÖ aktuell”. The interviews are conducted alternately by deputy editor-in-chief Claudia Schubert and editor-in-chief Benedikt Fuchs.
