THE.NIGHT: “Welcome Austria” with Tom Neuwirth, Michael Köhlmeier and Ina Regen on February 13th on ORF 1

Afterwards: “Pratersterne” and “Good Night Austria”

Vienna (OTS) From the Philosopher’s Ship to the Comedy Palace: On Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 10 p.m. on ORF 1, the most glamorous Rabenhof act of the season, Tom Neuwirth aka Conchita Wurst, will be a guest on “Welcome Austria”. In addition, writer Michael Köhlmeier and his new novel “The Philosopher’s Ship” will be coming to the talk with Stermann and Grissemann. Musician Ina Regen will take part in the show finale together with the “Tuesday Night Chapel”. They will perform the song “Wann da Regen foit” on the occasion of the “United for Ukraine” charity concert on February 21st in the Wiener Stadthalle – which can be seen on February 23rd at 10:50 p.m. on ORF 1. At 11 p.m. the “Prater Stars” light up DIE.NACHT when Hosea Ratschiller welcomes Manuel Rubey, Roland Otto Bauschenberger, Elena Wolff and the duo EsRAP to the stand-up stage of the Vienna Fluc. Afterwards at 11.30 p.m. there will be a dacapo with “Good Night Austria”, in which Peter Klien has thrown himself into the hustle and bustle of the Vienna Opera Ball.

“Welcome Austria” with Stermann & Grissemann at 10 p.m.:

Tom Neuwirth made music history as Conchita Wurst with his victory at the Eurovision Song Contest ten years ago. In the show “I want to go to the ESC!”, he and Rea Garvey are looking for this year’s German music act for the music competition. Tom Neuwirth also takes on the role of “Luzwuzi”, probably the strangest Habsburg of the Austrian imperial era. In Ruth Brauer-Kvam’s musical-theatrical happening, Vienna’s Rabenhof Theater will be the scene of scandals, glamor and extravagance from February 15th. Does the musician and performer also follow court etiquette at the talk in the Marx Palast? And has he finally shed the fictional character of Conchita for the theater stage?

The second talk guest goes from the farm to the high seas: In his new historical novel “The Philosopher’s Ship,” Michael Köhlmeier tells the “almost true” story of a centenarian who was once sent into forced exile by sea along with Russian intellectuals Story written down. In a conversation with Stermann and Grissemann, the author reveals what captivated him about the topic of the historical “philosopher’s ships” and which aspects of the novel can be found in our present day.

“Welcome Austria” is available on the broadcast day from 8 p.m. on on.ORF.at and in the TVthek app.

“Pratersterne” with Rubey, Bauschenberger, Wolff and EsRAP at 11 p.m

A new starry night in “Fluc”, a new group of illustrious guests that Hosea Ratschiller can present: Manuel Rubey is not only an actor and cabaret artist, but also the father of two daughters who want to be raised – not always the easiest exercise. The Upper Austrian Roland Otto Bauschenberger uses the stage, among other things, to deal with the trauma surrounding his two first names. Elena Wolff was born in Berlin and grew up in Kitzbühel. That alone would be enough material for an entire program, but it’s not the reason why she does cabaret. She wants to declare solidarity with men. And this is what she does:
intense, provocative, very erotic and definitely not suitable for young people. Esra and Enes Özmen provide the musical finale of the evening. The siblings form the duo EsRAP, which has found the perfect medium in its music to be heard – and has become an integral part of the Austrian rap scene.
