Vienna (OTS) “Welcome Austria” says goodbye to the summer break with a brilliant final issue. For the season finale on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 10 p.m. on ORF 1 – and from 8 p.m. on ORF ON – the holiday-ready hosts Stermann and Grissemann are looking forward to welcoming two guests again to the summer talk: the top striker the Austrian national soccer team Michael Gregoritsch and the renowned author Barbi Marković. The audience can also expect a premium selection of gags, gags, gags, and the WÖ regular cast including Maschek and Tuesday Night Chapel can be seen again before the summer break. At 11 p.m. the “Prater Stars” light up THE NIGHT: Hosea Ratschiller invites Martin Puntigam, Stefanie Sargnagel, Markus Koschuh and the duo “Wiener Blond” to the stand-up stage in Vienna’s Fluc. Afterwards at 11.30 p.m. there will be a dacapo with “Good Night Austria”.

“Welcome Austria” with Stermann & Grissemann at 10 p.m

There is no summer break for Michael Gregoritsch because the European Football Championship in Germany is imminent. The dynamic SC Freiburg striker has played his way into the hearts of the fans this season at the latest with his self-sacrificing style of play and decisive goals. In conversation with Stermann and Grissemann, Austria’s top striker, whose goals also made a decisive contribution to qualifying for the European Championship, will talk about his image as a late starter, working with cult coach Christian Streich and the ambitious goals with the national team in Germany.

Author Barbi Marković provides literary flights of fancy. She is known for her absurdly humorous stories – the two characters Miki and Mini populate her current book “Minihorror”, in which the two slide seamlessly from everyday experiences, such as normal weekly shopping, into surreal horror adventures with flesh-eating monsters. Her last novel “The Shitty Time” contained instructions for a role-playing game with which you can replay and continue playing the story surrounding the protagonists as often as you like. Barbi Marković has already proven several times that she is one of the most creative voices in contemporary literature. In a talk with the “Welcome Austria” hosts, she talks about her literary influences, the writing process and the origin of her strange stories.

“Pratersterne” at 11 p.m

Nobody packs knowledge, message and humor better than “Science Buster” Martin Puntigam. The award-winning artist opens the cabaret evening at Vienna’s Fluc and brings out the best pieces from his box of jokes. As a bonus, there are also tutoring sessions on “correct pronunciation”. Stefanie Sargnagel provides delicious entertainment with her very special view of the world. There is a Jodl sermon on Austrian domestic politics directly from the “Pratersterne” pulpit by Markus Koschuh, who conducts his audience like a good old Tyrolean church choir. And the duo “Wiener Blond” offers urban pop music from Vienna and reveals what their love for the weather panorama is all about.
