Vienna (OTS) All under one roof: In this “Welcome Austria” edition, Stermann and Grissemann welcome you on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 10 p.m. on ORF 1 – and from 8 p.m. on on.ORF.at and in the TVthek app – Talk guests from Germany, Switzerland and Austria: comedian and actor Michael “Bully” Herbig as well as “Kafka” actor Joel Basman and cameraman Martin Gschlacht. As the final number, “The Tuesday Night Chapel” delights with “Paradise” by Coldplay. At 11 p.m. the “Prater Stars” illuminate THE NIGHT: Hosea Ratschiller asks David “Dave” Scheid, Sonja Pikart, Dr. Bohl and Euro Teuro on the stand-up stage of the Vienna Fluc. Then at 11.30 p.m. a Dacapo from “Reiseckers Reisen” will take you to Berlin a second time.

“Welcome Austria” with Stermann & Grissemann at 10 p.m.:

Michael “Bully” Herbig has been known to millennials at least since the hit film “The Shoe of Manitu”, younger viewers know him from the comedy format “LOL: Last One Laughing”, which starts its fifth season at the end of March. The grand seigneur of German humor brings these two worlds together with the film “The Canoe of Manitu,” which is scheduled to be released in cinemas in 2025.

David Schalko’s new ORF/ARD miniseries “Kafka” also promises cinematic entertainment, which can be seen on ORF 1 on March 24th and 25th from 8:15 p.m. In it, actor Joel Basman plays the author Franz Kafka, whose life is told from different perspectives in six episodes. How the filming and the involvement with the writer’s life shaped the Swiss and whether the talk with Stermann and Grissemann also takes on Kafkaesque characteristics will become clear on Tuesday.

This fantastic world between dreams and reality was captured on film by none other than the country’s most sought-after cameraman, Martin Gschlacht, and found a fascinating visual language for depicting Kafka’s life and his contemporaries. He has just received the Silver Bear in Berlin for his work on the film “Des Teufels Bad” and has already appeared in countless film and television productions from Tatort to Jessica Hausner’s films “Amour Fou” or most recently “Club Zero” as well as Ulrich Seidl’s “In the Cellar “ involved. The co-founder of the Viennese film production company coop99 is a true giant of Austrian film and also has the right eye for almost hopeless cases like the WÖ presenter duo.

“Pratersterne” at 11 p.m

The headlights are on in the Fluc am Praterstern. Host Hosea Ratschiller is looking forward to four colleagues who will present short excerpts from their programs. Right from the start, David “Dave” Scheid asks himself whether stars are still made by television these days and almost doesn’t allow the ORF general director to have a say. Sonja Pikart hates patronizing and recommendations and therefore often does the opposite:
She actually boils water a second time and has a sex party with the oak processionary moth. With the two gentlemen from Dr. Bohl warms your heart when they very authentically portray the cultivated conversation of a long-married couple. The duo Euro Teuro will round off the evening. They take the audience to Vienna’s Danube Island.
