Vienna (OTS) – For the penultimate time before Christmas it will be “Welcome Austria” on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 9:55 p.m. on ORF 1. Dirk Stermann and Christoph Grissemann welcome three illustrious guests to the 591st edition of their satirical show: The cabaret, acting and recently also podcast greats Simon Schwarz and Manuel Rubey bring the appropriate insult to the Marx Palast on the occasion of their new joint program, followed by Patrick Budgen, presenter and author of the entertaining Central Cemetery crime novel “The Wooden Pajama Affair”. The show also looks over the shoulder of Stermann lookalike Stefan Anzenberger in his everyday working life, celebrates Maschek’s two years as Chancellor Karl Nehammer and brings “Die Tuesday Night Chapel” a party atmosphere into the silent (Tuesday) night with its final number. From 11 p.m., “DIE NACHT” will present a lot of turbulence from the “DAVE” brand with two episodes of the new season of the ORF mockumentary.
“Welcome Austria” with Stermann & Grissemann at 9:55 p.m
Simon Schwarz and Manuel Rubey are not only known as “Welcome Austria” talk guests, but also as actors in numerous film and television productions. Since June, the two have also been doing the podcast Schwarz & Rubey, in which they chat about God and the world, theater, films and everyday life in Vienna with refreshingly incorrect Austrian humor. Whether they can pick up one or two tips from “Salon Helga” veterans Stermann & Grissemann and what their new cabaret piece “Das Restaurant” is all about will become clear over the course of the show.
With ORF colleague Patrick Budgen, the personified good mood enters the Marx Palace. The “Vienna Today” and “Guten Morgen Österreich” presenter has been able to welcome numerous prominent personalities to his talk series “Bei Budgen” in recent years. He once again demonstrates his literary talent with his third book “The Wooden Pajama Affair”, a Vienna Central Cemetery crime thriller that, with typical Viennese humor, is likely to be a bathtub read entirely in Grissmann’s spirit. At Stermann & Grissemann he reveals what anecdotes the Viennese native can tell about the second largest cemetery in Europe and whether he would swap breakfast TV for a late night talk.

Episode 5: While Dave and Jan enjoy la dolce vita in a Bavarian restaurant in Jesolo, Dave meets the nurse from the hospital. And that’s not the only reunion: Claire Richie also ended up in Italy. Do all roads lead to Dave?
Episode 6: After escaping from the mafia, Dave and Jan are finally on their way back to Austria in the Nice Ridey. But where exactly? According to the motto “Those who help others will be helped” Dave and Jan end up in one of the most famous hotels in Austria and live the “Life Deluxe”. But it soon becomes clear: behind the shiny facade there is a strange intention.
