Guests from culture and business celebrated the creative power of applied art with the MAK and the MAK Art Society
Vienna (OTS) – Yesterday, May 16, 2024, the MAK and the MAK Art Society (MARS) invited people to an exclusive artists’ dinner and a joint celebration of the creative power of applied art. The setting for the exclusive evening was the exhibition “HARD/SOFT. Textiles and Ceramics in Contemporary Art”, in which artistic design wealth is particularly noticeable; as well as in the setting of the dinner, which was realized together with contemporary artists. Around 140 guests from art, culture and business took part in the dinner, the funds of which were used to purchase items for the MAK collection and the upcoming major exhibition “PECHE POP. “As part of the exhibition ‘THE FEST’ last year, we revived the tradition of artist festivals with a practical exercise. We wanted to continue this tradition this year with an evening that was thought up and celebrated together with artists and that is intended to benefit art. The artist Jakob Lena Knebl designed a special plate edition 2024 for the MAK, which was implemented by Gmundner Keramik and with the proceeds from which Gmundner Keramik supports the MAK: on the six different underplates and dessert plates with variations that are available for purchase dinner is served.
