Big premiere: At the St. Michael traffic junction in Upper Styria, the first large “e-charging thrust” of Energie Styria will be created in the coming months. In addition to 10 hypercharger loading points (with an output of up to 300 kW), the location will also offer a lounge with snacking machines, outdoor stays, an experience path for children and adults and modern sanitary facilities. Thanks to the covered construction, customers remain “not in the rain” during the charging process.
“The first construction phase begins in the 3rd quarter of 2025 and includes an investment volume of 4.3 million euros. Here, comprehensive reinforcements of the network infrastructure are required. Martin Graf and Werner Ressi. “We are taking into account the growing need for appropriate infrastructure for electrical mobility and set another milestone”.
According to the pilot model in Upper Styria, further electric charging centers with the appropriate infrastructure are to be built in other regions of Styria. Existing locations should also be upgraded and converted. “After all, a lot has happened in terms of technology, charging behavior and performance, especially over recent times,” says Graf and Ressi.
The number of public electric loading points in Styria will be doubled to around 2,000 in the next 2 years. In the past year, over 4.4 million kilowatt hours of green electricity were “refueled” at the existing Styrian E-charging points of Energie Styria.
The powerful e-charging thrust in St. Michael is operated with the photovoltaic system installed on the roofs and a storage facility. An expansion by up to 10 other charging points – including for e -trucks – is planned at the St. Michael location. The mobility map of Energie Styria can continue to be used as a means of payment at all e-charging boys.
Die Mayor of St. Michael, NRABG. Nicole Sunitsch, is happy about the investment: “As a community, we are proud that the first e-charging height of Energie Styria is created in St. Michael. This loading park represents a significant step towards a sustainable infrastructure and promotes electromobility in our region. Thanks to our central location as a traffic junction, St. Michael is the ideal location to optimize the traffic flow and at the same time make a valuable contribution to environmental protection and quality of life. To be future -oriented projects and together to go a sustainable path into the future. ”
