The Green state manager Hikmet Arslan is pleased with the result of the state elections in Burgenland: “This is absolutely a good result for the Greens in Burgenland. The last poll before the election showed the Greens at 4%, and the risk of them not making it into the state parliament was real. Many had already written them off. But the Burgenland Greens have shown what is possible with commitment and a clear message. This catch-up to a solid result and, according to current projections, the retention of mandates are a strong sign. With two votes for nature and soil protection, lively town centers and transparency in the Burgenland state parliament, it is clear: Green politics is indispensable. Especially in times like these, critical, green voices are needed more than ever. The Burgenland Greens have proven that they fight for the well-being of the people – loudly, consistently and with complete conviction. We will demonstrate the same in our communities in Lower Austria in a week.”
