The Austrian Council for the Disabled is now finally anchored in law and given a fixed annual budget. We will use these resources to continue to represent the concerns of people with disabilities with full commitment.

Vienna (OTS) The coalition proposal regarding a federal law amending the Federal Disability Act and the Disabled Persons Employment Act, which was unanimously introduced in the Social Committee of the National Council on June 27, 2024, was approved today at the final meeting of the National Council. The amendment to the Federal Disability Act and the Disability Employment Act, which provides for a strengthening of the Disability Advocates, the Independent Monitoring Committee and the Austrian Disability Council, will come into force immediately after publication.
