Ankö celebrates for 25 years as the market leader in public allocation
In 2025, the contractor cadastre Austria (Ankö) can look back on a quarter of a century success story in the area of public allocation. The Ankö was founded on December 23, 1999 as a “contractor cadastre Austria”. Today the Ankö is an indispensable part of the Austrian award market and has established itself as the market leader.
Historical development of the Ankö
1872
From a historical point of view, there was already the “Vienna Contract Services” in 1872, which dealt with suitability in an early way. In 1925 the area was mentioned as “technical regulations for construction work”, and was a rudimentary stem on the world of suitability. From 1948 there were “legal and technical provisions for construction work, guidelines for forgiveness (B 2060)”, which operated and controlled by the City of Vienna, until 1999 a history of the Ankö.
1999
From 1980 to 1999, today’s aptitude proof database “List of suitable companies” was referred to as “Fiaker” or “Winfiaker” (Fiaker stood for “companies and contractor cadasters”). Since the foundation of the association “contractor cadastre Austria” in 1999, today’s aptitude proof database has been renamed “List of suitable companies”. The aim was to conduct the same, namely to have a comprehensive database of companies that are suitable for public procurement procedures. In the following years, the Ankö developed into a leading provider of services related to public allocation.
The Ankö portfolio now not only includes the provision and management of suitability detections, but also a variety of other services, such as a tender database and the market-leading e-clipping platform in Austria. The Ankö is the only provider to offer a “one-stop shop” solution for clients: inside (procurement: indoor) and contractor: inside (bidder: inside).
Milestones in product development
Approval database
At the beginning, the aptitude database “contractor cadastre” was referred to. It was only from 2003 that the statutes according to the statutes “list of suitable companies” (short: “LGU”) as a product name was communicated to the outside world. The LGU has always been the core service of the Ankö, the only aptitude database in Austria.
Order search engine
In 2000, today’s “award portal” was still referred to as a “award compass”. The purpose was the same: to announce orders and make companies possible to make interesting orders in the flood of information in the flood of information. From 2001 to 2017 it was mainly manual work to type off official sheets and get the orders in the database. In 2018, due to the obligation to tender in the upper threshold area, there was a massive customer increase, which continues to this day and also contributed to the best financial year of the Ankö in 2024. Today the award portal is successful as a Europe -wide search platform for orders and has been supplemented by the Ankö Donau platform for tenders in the Danube room since 2020.
Electronic supply
The first electronic process in Austria successfully took place as a pilot test on June 24, 2010. Thereupon it began in 2011 to handle electronic procedures with the first e-allocation system of the Ankö, at that time still under the portal name “input portal”. The state of Salzburg was the first federal state to use the electronic supply from the start.
In 2015, the “input portal” was supplemented by the Ankö Eauktion. Since March 6, 2017, the term “Evergung+” replaced the “input portal” product as an electronic contract solution. The electronic signature in the form of the cell phone signature has been accepted in the Ankö since May 27, 2011.
Reference management
At the end of 2025, a new Ankö reference management tool released, which enables the company and the client: inside an improved administration and use of references and is fertile with the other ankö portals.
Ankö Academy
The Ankö Academy was launched in 2022 with the aim of strengthening public clients’ procurement skills: inside and companies, i.e. bidders and bidders, and to establish a new procurement culture. “With the Ankö Academy, we focus on the most important part of our award world-the people. In a constantly complex environment with changing legal conditions, a sound training becomes increasingly important. We ensure that the level of knowledge always corresponds to the current circumstances,” said Ankö Managing Director Emir PRCIć, MBA about the founding motif.
Under the direction of Mag. Jennifer Baumgartner and with Prof. Dr. Michael Breitenfeld As the course manager, the Academy offers practical training that are based on the four pillars of strategy, business, law and practice.
