The 34th Film Festival on Vienna’s Rathausplatz starts in a month

Vienna (OTS) In a month the time has come: once again the Film Festival on Vienna’s Rathausplatz invites you to an interplay of top-class music film programs and first-class culinary delights from the kitchens of the world.
Europe’s largest cultural and culinary festival is entering its 34th season.

Gastronomy is already open at all European Championship games in Austria

Even before the film festival actually begins, the Fan Arena is presenting all three of Austria’s group games at UEFA EURO 2024™ on the big screen.
The Film Festival’s 26 restaurateurs are already working for their football-loving guests on all match days (June 17th, 21st and 25th) and are delivering what is probably the best food of all the fan zones in the country. On all other days the Fan Arena, including the restaurants, remains closed.

From June 29th, the Film Festival will once again be offering the well-known and popular mix of musical cultural program on the one hand and the best cuisine on the other. Only on three evenings, on July 9th and 10th (semi-finals) and on July 14th (final), the evening film program has to give way to the sporting event. If Austria were particularly successful in neighboring Germany and managed to reach the European Championship round of 16 or even the quarter-finals, the film would also be canceled on these days in favor of football.

Special program highlights accompany football broadcasts

Due to the Fan Arena for the UEFA EURO 2024™, the Film Festival will take place in a slightly different form this year: In order to guarantee enough space and the highest level of safety for all fans, the extensive cinema area of ​​the Film Festival will be open from June 29th, the opening day, until There will be no seats on July 14th, the day of the European Championship final.

During this phase, guests can look forward to a special highlight program of pop and rock and can enjoy a concert-like atmosphere on the town hall square.

On July 15th, the day after the final of the European Championships, the Film Festival closed to carry out necessary renovation work. There will be no film programs shown on this day, nor will the restaurants be open. From July 16th to September 1st, guests can once again enjoy the usual Film Festival fun with rows of seats and space for a total of 2,800 visitors in the cinema area.
