Vienna (OTS) – And it’s going to be dredged and smashed again: The A1 Beach Pro Vienna 2024 will take place from July 9th to 14th at Vienna’s Heumarkt and fans will be there via ORF 1, ORF SPORT + and ORF ON.
The final entry list has already been fixed. Eight of the top 10 teams in the men’s world rankings will meet in Vienna for a final showdown before the Olympics. This year, a wild card in the tournament went to the Austrian fan favorites Hörl/Horst, who took ninth place at last year’s European Championships in Vienna. While Horst has already taken part in three other Olympic Games, Hörl is celebrating his Olympic premiere in the French capital. Three other Austrian duos made it into the qualification: Ermacora/Waller, Seidl/Prstauz and Hammarberg/Berger.
For the women, five of the top 10 teams in the world rankings are in the main draw in Vienna. Ana Patrícia Silva Ramos/Duda Santos Lisboa have been leading the FIVB world rankings for some time. The two Brazilians have already won several Elite16 gold medals, including a win this season at the Elite16 in Brasilia. The two are also reigning vice world champions. Their compatriots Agatha Bednarczuk Rippel/Rebecca Cavalcante Barbosa Da Silva will also be playing in Vienna. From Austria, Dorina and Ronja Klinger are in the main draw and Katharina Schützenhöfer and Lena Maria Plesiutschnig are in the qualification.
