TELEIOS 2024 – the prize for innovation, quality and sustainability in Austrian geriatric care has been awarded

The Lebenswelt Heim Federal Association congratulates all award winners

Linz (OTS) The Lebenswelt Heim Federal Association has awarded this unique prize for the 10th time. A total of 62 entrants from all over Austria applied for the TELEIOS with their projects. “This is an all-time high,” says Claudia Hofmann, the general secretary of the Lebenswelt Heim Federal Association, who was responsible for the operational organization with her colleague Michaela Eder.

The Governor of Upper Austria, Mag. Thomas Stelzer, emphasized in his welcoming words: “Demographic developments place great demands on all of us, and this is particularly evident when it comes to the topic of care. In this area in particular, it is important to focus on innovation and digitalization. But above all on the competence and empathy of the employees – the nominees for the TELEIOS are the best proof of this.

One of the very rare honorary TELEIOS was presented this year to the retired head of Section IV of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Mag. Manfred Pallinger. As section head, he was a very important mediator between people in nursing home practice, administration and politics. “It is personalities like Manfred Pallinger who actively shape things through their personal commitment, care and support. Just as every employee makes an indispensable contribution, it depends on everyone involved. We are united by the goal that grandma and grandpa can grow old wellsaid Dr. Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer, the Upper Austrian State Councilor for Social Affairs, in his laudatory speech.

The eight-member jury, which submitted its assessments in a multi-stage process accompanied by a notary, was as diverse and colorful as the submissions. In the final meeting, the members of the jury confirmed the creativity and high quality of the projects. “We would like to thank all jury members who took on the significantly increased amount of work with commitment, volunteerism and always with the residents and employees in mind,” said Jakob Kabas, President of the Lebenswelt Heim Federal Association

Someone who has been there from the beginning, now in the role of honorary president of the Lebenswelt Heim Federal Association and as jury spokesman, is Edgar Führer. This time he once again reported something about the history and idea of TELEIOS and emphasized how important it is to make the work of old people’s and nursing homes visible in this way. “It has always been important to us to give a platform to the innovative strength of larger organizations and small companies alike,” he describes one of the goals of TELEIOS.

This time the TELEIOS was a guest with its gala evening at the music theater in Linz, where Folke Tegetthoff, fairy tale poet and storyteller, and his team of artists made the event something very special. And it is also the stories behind the project reports of the nominated homes that provide a valuable insight into life in our nursing homes, where it is not just quantitative goals that count, but above all life and quality of life. At the same time, Folke Tegetthoff says: “There is no greater desire than to find someone who listens to you,” and thus hits an important point for nursing homes. The Lebenswelt Heim Federal Association is therefore constantly committed – not only through TELEIOS – to ensuring that people in old people’s and nursing homes are heard, in society, but above all also by decision-makers, politicians and opinion makers .

And what does it feel like to look into the faces of the happy winners and congratulate them on their extraordinary work? The President of the Lebenswelt Heim Federal Association says: “It is an evening full of confidence when it comes to the quality of life of older people and those in need of care, full of encouragement to make what is achieved every day visible and the magic that comes from success stories that want to be told to others.
