For some years now, technologies that are intended to undo the consequences of anthropogenic climate change have been planned in the climate protection plans of the World Climate Council. It is no longer just about reducing the emissions of greenhouse gases and an adaptation to the consequences of the climate break that has become inevitable: to prevent the worst, projects for a “plan B” are developed with which either the sun is “shaded” for the purpose of cooling down the earth, or the carbon dioxide that has already been emitted. Climate Engineering, i.e. tinkering around the climate, has now become indispensable after official announcements. From the perspective of global justice, this development leads to strong doubts about their meaningfulness.
