What it can mean to be gay impressively expresses Jellinek as a dancer on stage. His stage are classrooms in various schools in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Brandenburg and Schleswig-Holstein.

It is already the sixth classroom dance piece with which the Companie Perform (D) Ance is under the motto “MV dancing”. The piece is intended for students from the ninth grade of all school types. “The children and young people hardly come to the theater,” said the choreographer of the piece, Stefan Hahn. “That is why we go to the schools to make current, socially critical topics sound by dance.” The challenge of the play “Who on I?” It was not to overwhelm young people to meet them, to take them seriously, says Hahn. “It was an attempt to find a connection between the explicit reality and the metaphorical representation, so that the statement remains conveyable.”

A satchel, a school desk, a chair. These are the props in the room. The protagonist still lying on the ground is straightened up. A between the wall, chair and the bench forces itself. The school furniture is flying through the air. A fight against hostility, against exclusion, against violence.

“For a long time, I didn’t let my sexuality different,” recalls György Jellinek. “I refused, even hated. I suppressed everything that had to do with gender affiliation. «The boy is bullied at school. “It was a difficult time. It was said that I wasn’t a typical man-boy. ”Jellinek tries to explain the behavior of his classmates at the time. Later the search for a self -determined, free life leads him into a deep identity crisis.

György Jellinek was born in Budapest, grows up with two sisters. The parents are both crane. The mother smokes strongly, the father drinks and depends on tablets. “We children were quiet so as not to cause any problems.” At the same time, things are happily going in the family. “Our home often appeared to me like a ballroom, which took a little bit.” The parents are dancers in the Budapest Burlesken Theater scene. The mother recognizes the boy’s talent. She presents the then twelve -year -old at a casting of the Budapest Ballet Academy.
