The summer games in Paris were a great success and a great experience for them. How important are the World Cup in Singapore in the Nacholympic Year?

A high. Of course, I would like to show that I still belong to the top of the world and that the bronze medal in Paris was not a unique thing.

They have been behind their premiere in the open water since February, now they got gold with the German season at the title fights in Singapore. Did you plan this step into the open water anyway or was that a spontaneous decision?

A Nach Olympic season is always perfect to try something new. The open water was also an issue in the Olympic season – especially with Flo, Oli (Florian Wellbrock and Oliver Klemet, editor’s note) and me. I was able to imagine that all the time very well to support the season, especially.

The Magdeburg freestyle specialist Isabel Gose Before the start of the pelvic competitions at the World Championships in Singapore, talks about their first experiences in the open water and World Cup title in the season, Olympic feelings and their will to prove themselves in the top of the world. The first start in the pool for the 23-year-old is over 400 meters freestyle on Sunday.

So you have wicked swimming in the open water. What are your goals in the pelvic competitions that you start with the 400 meter freestyle next Sunday?

We are generally well positioned in open water and had already hoped for something beforehand. I put everything in – and now I have to see how my body recovers after these hardships. It’s very warm in Singapore. I’m curious to see how my body can tolerate it. And now I want to show what I have developed in the past year.

By winning the bronze medal over 1500 meters freestyle at the summer games in Paris, they did what they wanted so much – a feeling that they would like to experience again. So is your focus on the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles?

Something because it is simply the feeling that everything works out, that this hard work pays off. It remains to be seen whether this is medals or best times. And yes, the games in Los Angeles are of course the long -term goal, but I also like to think a little short -term, so from season to season.

So you don’t have a four -year plan?

In a rough, of course, of course, of course, and in the back of the head are the Olympic Games anyway. But I set more specific goals when the Olympics really get back to me.

At their bronze race in Paris, they defeated their permanent competitor Simona Quadarella from Italy. Did the psychological help you use, especially helped you in this regard?

It was already triggering me to have always struck behind Quadarella. That is difficult. I have been working with a sports psychologist for a long time and at some point we also tackled this point. It always says: “You will beat her at the right moment.” And that’s exactly how it was.

And do you still use the sports psychological support?

Yes, this is such a never -ending story, you should always stay tuned. This is simply part of my routine and is particularly important to me.
