The FPÖ shows again how it deals with criticism: not with arguments, but with personal attacks and the deliberate spread of racist narrative. Anyone who maneuvers themselves in a political dead end is apparently desperately looking for distraction.
“Yesterday ‘Austria first’, today Turkish first – the FPÖ itself no longer knows what it stands for. First she calls for a ban from the Islamic faith community, now it is advertising in Turkish. First she ranks against political Islam, now she is looking for its proximity. Anyone who turns and turns is not credible – but panicked, ”criticizes Peter Sverak, state manager of the Vienna People’s Party.
It is particularly exposed that the FPÖ now works with targeted racist assumptions. “If the FPÖ now operates with absurd claims about ‘Afghan takeovers’, it is nothing more than targeted agitation. In the Vienna People’s Party, efforts and performance count – not where someone or his family comes from. The FPÖ prefers to work with racist combat terms than with facts, ”says Sverak.
The Vienna People’s Party continues to focus on a clear and consistent integration policy – without opportunistic swivel and cheap tactics. “The FPÖ can shout as loud as it wants – people see through this helpless theater,” concludes Sverak.
