The real estate industry has one of the greatest levers when it comes to shaping a sustainable future,” says ÖGNI Managing Director Peter Engert, “that starts with the buildings themselves, but it also affects the development of livable cities and communities. Vienna (OTS) On October 16 and 17, 2024, the Austrian Society for Sustainable Real Estate (ÖGNI) will host a symposium on sustainability for the first time in its history under the title “Sustainability: Turning Intentions into Impact!” in the Vienna Hofburg. Experts from the entire DACH (Germany-Austria-Switzerland) region will be on October 16th. Develop practical solutions for selected subject areas. These will be on October 17th. presented at the closing gala in the Vienna Hofburg. A top-class star guest from Hollywood is also expected.

THE WORLD IS FULL OF GOOD INTENTIONS

The challenge is to translate these intentions into targeted actions that have concrete, noticeable effects. That is exactly the idea behind the ÖGNI sustainability symposium. For the first time in the organization’s history, experts from the entire DACH region will come together to literally and sustainably change the future of the real estate industry. “The real estate industry has one of the greatest levers when it comes to shaping a sustainable future,” says ÖGNI Managing Director Peter Engert, “that starts with the buildings themselves, but it also affects the development of livable cities and communities. The role of communities and cities in the transformation is discussed as well as the support through digitalization and data collection and analysis. Circular economy as a central element of sustaining the European economy will be another focus.

FINAL GALA IN THE HOFBURG

The closing event will take place in the Vienna Hofburg on October 17th, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. As part of this, the results of the expert panels will be presented to an audience of 600 decision-makers from the industry. In addition, established companies in the real estate industry as well as selected start-ups from the sustainability sector have the opportunity to show their products and services. A top-class Hollywood actress was won as a special star guest. Who this is is still to be announced. So much in advance: The character actress has already been awarded an Oscar twice.

ABOUT THE PUBLIC
The ÖGNI, Austrian Society for Sustainable Real Estate, is an NGO (non-governmental organization) that aims to establish sustainability in the construction and real estate industry. The focus of the ÖGNI’s work is the certification of sustainable buildings and neighborhoods according to the European quality certificate DGNB. The aim of the ÖGNI is to show the added value of building certifications in order to create environmentally and resource-saving buildings with high economic and social efficiency, which can be used flexibly across generations and have a positive effect on the well-being of the users.
The ÖGNI was founded in 2009 and is a cooperation partner of the DGNB (German Society for Sustainable Building), whose certification system was adopted, adapted to Austria and has been continuously developed since then.
