Results of the big vegan survey 2025 by vegan.eu
Veganer: Almost exclusively choose inside Left Party (39.9 %), Greens (32.0 %) and the Animal protection party (7.0 %). CDU/CSU (1.2 %), SPD (1.7 %), FDP (0.5 %) and AfD (3.3 %) play practically no role. If only vegans were entitled to vote on the inside, the CDU/CSU, SPD, FDP and AfD would fail at the 5 percent hurdle.
But the findings go far beyond party preferences: 65 % call climate change as the greatest concern, only 7 % Immigration – it is exactly the other way around in the general population. More than 85 % reject European foreclosure policy towards refugees and demand safe escape routes. Over 90 % are committed to animal rights, diversity, social equality and drastic measures against climate change.
Methodically sound investigation
The results come from the largest investigation into political and social attitudes vegan living in German -speaking countries. 2100 vegan: within From Germany, Austria and Switzerland, between April and September 2025 took part in the online survey.

In order to rule out possible distortions, it was checked whether factors such as Age, gender, level of education, residence country or recruitment route the differences between vegans: inside and the general population could explain. The result is clear: None of these factors could explain the findings or significantly weaken the findings. The political and social differences are therefore specific to the vegan community.
Further central findings
- Left-right location: 83.3 % arrange on the left, 12.8 % in the middle, only 3.8 % on the right – in contrast to the general population (29 % left, 55 % center, 16 % right).
- Authority: The approval of authoritarian statements (B-RWA-6 scale) is clearly below the population average.

The results show: Vegans: Inside, not only differ in their diet, but also by an independent political and social profile that clearly stands out from the entire population.
