CONCORDIA social projects publishes their impact report 2023/24
Vienna (OTS) – CONCORDIA was able to support over 37,000 people in Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria, Kosovo and Austria with its offers of assistance in 2023. Around 27,000 people, including 14,810 children, were helped as part of the regular program, as well as 10,000 people as part of the Ukraine emergency aid.
Behind every single number there are personal life stories that have been used as examples in the impact report. From a young mother who hopes for a better future for her children, from a young man who can achieve his goals with a CONCORDIA scholarship, from an aspiring social worker who grew up in an institution herself and knows what that means. The figures for CONCORDIA’s work in 2023 also reflect the commitment and determination to expand its sphere of influence and give even more children and young people a chance for a life of fulfillment.
There are still countries in Europe where children and young people suffer from the harsh reality of poverty and exclusion. These regions are often isolated from mainstream society and offer limited opportunities for an independent life in dignity. “We are talking about the vicious circle of generational poverty, which should actually no longer exist in Europe. Breaking out of this cycle is almost impossible without external support. Our socio-political vision is to start right there, so that child poverty and misery no longer have a place in Europe.”

Great impact through individual donations
The total volume of financial resources generated by CONCORDIA in 2023 amounted to around 20 million euros. CONCORDIA owes over half to donors from Austria, Germany and Switzerland. The willingness to donate in 2023 – half of the income comes from private individuals – makes it possible to plan programs in the longer term. This is an important prerequisite for responsible and sustainable use of resources, especially in holistic work with children and young people.
