Vienna (OTS) – The General Secretary of the People’s Party makes it clear that the allegations made by Secretary General Voglauer must be rejected in the strongest possible terms. “Federal Minister Totschnig acted in accordance with the law. Voglauer is busy enough with the Greens and is well advised to refrain from further legally false accusations.”
In the case of the CAP, the scope of action was only touched upon by other ministries. In this case, only one opportunity to express oneself must be granted. Prior to the approval in the Council, the BMK, as the affected department, was given several opportunities to comment. So they acted in accordance with the law.
However, things are different in the case of the renaturation regulation: this would require actual measures not only in the area of responsibility of the BMK, but also of other federal ministries. These other federal ministries are affected within the meaning of Section 5 BMG. The BMK must reach agreement with them in order to be able to approve the regulation. If it doesn’t do that and still agrees, it is acting illegally.
