The ‘Wiener Zeitung’ exposes the generous advertising of the red city of Vienna, while party leader Babler remains silent about all revelations
Vienna (OTS) – “Rules and laws also apply to the Viennese SPÖ – even if some of their representatives apparently see it differently. Some SPÖ politicians in Vienna apparently believe that they are more equal than their fellow citizens. This can be seen, for example, in the allocation of advertisements from the red city of Vienna to a newspaper owned by an SPÖ politician, but also in the reallocation procedures from which SPÖ politicians are said to have benefited. At the latest after the numerous revelations of the past few months, there must be serious consequences for those who apparently have difficulties in clearly separating the taxpayer’s money from their own,” said the general secretary of the People’s Party, Christian Stocker, referring to the reporting in the ‘Wiener Zeitung’. .
“The judiciary should also take a close look at these practices. The grievances in Vienna have not only been known since yesterday. Every Viennese has probably asked themselves the question: ‘Why does Vienna need a larger advertising budget than all the other federal states combined?’ These and other important questions must be answered,” continued Stocker, who finally appealed to SPÖ chairman Andreas Babler: “You have promised the citizens of this country that they will come to terms with and educate themselves. Finally stand by your words and put an end to these practices of your party friends!”
