Zell am See (OTS) The Hagleitner toilet report 2023 reveals what people need when they need shelter. Specifically, the report refers to public sanitary facilities. Fifth place is taken by the trash can, which disgusts 49.7 percent.

A total of 56.9 percent of those surveyed are repeatedly disgusted when they use the public toilet. 22.1 percent only use it in emergencies.

Condoms also end up in the trash in public toilets

Behavioral patterns were also analyzed: 50.6 percent of participants threw away tampons in the toilet, 43.1 percent threw away sanitary pads; 42.5 percent dispose of panty liners and 17.8 percent dispose of condoms. 11.2 percent use incontinence pads to eliminate incontinence, 8.6 percent do this with blisters – for example for suppositories.

Research reason

Stefanie Hagleitner, who heads product management at the hygiene company, explains the motive for the study: “Necessity is the mother of invention, and this also applies to necessities. The Hagleitner toilet report is based on an online survey whose field time ran from September 26th to October 1st, 2023.
