This Sunday is the legal deadline on which the election parties for the Vienna election are published their campaign costs by means of an election advertising report on their own website and informed the city development center about the publication. “We naturally perceive this obligation-we have published the electoral report on our website on time and properly informed the city calculation courtyard,” announced the campaign manager of the SPÖ Vienna and SPÖ Vienna state party secretary Barbara Novak, MA. “With expenditure of 4.89 million euros, we did not fully exploit the election campaign costs.” ***
“Our focus is on conducting a fair, honest and transparent election campaign of the best ideas-as we have also recorded in the fairness agreement. As the largest election party in Vienna with around 5,000 activists, we focus on our campaign activities according to the Viennese, to bring our content and concepts for a worth living and affordable Vienna,” explains Novak. “We do this about all public channels as well as by means of dialogue campaigns in public space – we have equipped our 5,000 activists across the board with all the campaign materials that they need for their work. We have therefore used the majority of our financial means to inform the voters in the best possible way and to give them the opportunity to get a comprehensive picture of our political projects and goals.”
Novak continues to emphasize: “As a leading Viennese government party, we have moved a lot in terms of transparency and control in politics and administration in the past five years. With the amendment to the Vienna Party Funding Act together with our coalition partner NEOS, we have legally anchored the responsible use of party money and thus significantly strengthened the control options and thus took another important step towards more openness and trust in politics.”
Novak explains to the further procedure: “After the election day on April 27, the election parties have six months, their finals and through an independent: n auditor: in certified electoral report to be sent to the city development center.”
