Full support for the PVÖ demand: Application for funding must also be possible without a computer or Internet access
Vienna (OTS/SK) – The SPÖ joins the pensioners’ association, according to which a funding offensive by the states and federal government for the exchange of heating systems and the thermal renovation of buildings is discriminatory, especially against older people. Because you can currently only receive funding of up to 100 percent for socially disadvantaged households if it is applied for exclusively online – and in a complex process. “Submerging a heater involves a lot of financial effort, which pensioners with low pensions cannot afford on their own. They are highly dependent on funding like this. Of course, you must also have the opportunity to apply for these grants! “But I don’t see this possibility here with any certainty,” says SPÖ energy spokesman Alois Schroll, who points out that many pensioners still do not have internet access or the necessary digital skills for it. “PVÖ President Kostelka is absolutely right! A possibility must be created to be able to submit an application for funding without a computer or Internet access,” Schroll told the SPÖ press service today, Sunday. ****
For Schroll, this case reminds us of the nationwide subsidies for photovoltaic systems: “In order to receive subsidies here, people had to sit in front of the PC at exactly 5 p.m. and if they waited just three minutes too long, they didn’t get the ticket they needed and then unfortunately that was it for the time being with the funding. Such situations are undignified and people don’t deserve it! People from socially disadvantaged households in particular must not be prevented from receiving financial help that they so urgently need by unnecessary hurdles,” concludes Schroll. (End) lp
