The standstill and blockade policy was voted out
Bregenz (OTS) – “Sincere congratulations to Bernhard Auinger on his first place in the direct mayoral election and to the SPÖ in the municipal council election in Salzburg,” reacted the Vorarlberg SPÖ state chairman Mario Leiter on Sunday evening.
The result for the ÖVP and the Greens should also be a warning for Governor Markus Wallner: both the standstill and the mutual blockades in the federal government also dominate Vorarlberg state politics. This led to considerable losses for both parties in Salzburg.
The election result also shows how strongly people are responsible for the voters’ decisions today, because there is no other explanation for the strong performance of a party like the KPÖ with its problematic past and program. “It is a great pity that there is no possibility of directly electing a state governor. I would really like to enter into a competition for the best ideas and credibility with Markus Wallner,” said Leiter. Now it’s a matter of all centrist forces supporting Bernhard Auinger in the upcoming runoff election so that next Sunday will also be a good day for Salzburg.
