SPÖ-KO Fürst: “Hofer-FPÖ is getting campaign help from Hungary

on January 15, 2025 – Under the title “Friendship with our neighbors”, FPÖ top candidate Norbert Hofer invited the Hungarian Minister Gulyás to Vienna today and did the same as his successor as National Council President, Walter Rosenkranz, who was the highest in Europe at the end of October invited controversial Prime Minister Viktor Orbán to Vienna. “There has never been such ‘interference’ by a foreign politician in a regional election in Austria. This raises many questions, especially for a party that likes to advertise ‘Austria first’. “The Burgenland Hofer-FPÖ is proving once again that their political alliance partner from Hungary is more important to them than the interests of the Burgenlanders,” says SPÖ club chairman Roland Fürst, more than astonished and continues: “But that makes it even clearer how important a strong state governor Hans Peter Doskozil for Burgenland. Only he guarantees that decisions for our home country are made exclusively in Eisenstadt and not in Budapest or elsewhere,” said Fürst.

With Hofer comes A3 burden
The topic of A3 extension was also discussed at the Burgenland-Hungarian meeting. As is well known, Hofer wants to close the gap as quickly as possible. “The decision as to whether an A3 gap will be closed or not will be made in Eisenstadt. We represent the interests of the affected communities and not those of Hungary. We will prevent the residents from being driven over!”, concluded Fürst.
