It’s high time for a real reform chancellor – SPÖ with Andi Babler at the helm is the only party that can make Austria better and fairer
Vienna (OTS) – Today, Sunday, SPÖ federal manager Sandra Breiteneder commented clearly on the disastrous results of the turquoise-green government. “The results of the turquoise-green federal government after four years are devastating. The ÖVP and the Greens have failed in the fight against inflation. The government is responsible for the highest inflation in Western Europe and has been failing to provide assistance for over two years,” said Breiteneder. She emphasizes that the increased inflation in December, rising unemployment and the economic downturn prove in black and white that “Austria is developing in the wrong direction and the government is harming people and companies.” There are also problems everywhere in the health system, Austrians often have to wait months for a doctor’s appointment, there is still no climate protection law after four years and nothing is happening when it comes to expanding all-day schools and childcare places. “Austria does not need a turquoise chancellor who will manage the decline, but rather a real reform chancellor who will bring Austria forward again. It’s high time for a fresh start. The SPÖ with Andi Babler at the helm is the only party that can make Austria better and fairer!” said Breiteneder to the SPÖ press service. ****
“The turquoise-green government has been churning out arguments and scandals over the last four years, but they have forgotten about the people in Austria,” said Breiteneder, who recalls the ÖVP’s unspeakable flood of scandals, including house searches, investigations and court cases. The SPÖ federal manager also expresses sharp criticism of the turquoise-green COFAG disaster, the ÖVP’s contribution to the Benko scandal and the fact that National Council President Sobotka has still not resigned.
“Only the SPÖ with Reform Chancellor Andi Babler will be able to clear away the shambles of this government and prevent an impending black-blue government that would further worsen the living situation of people in Austria,” says Breiteneder, for whom it is clear: “Our public The health system must finally be strengthened – instead of being subjected to further black and blue exploitation. The SPÖ is committed to guaranteeing an appointment with the doctor within 14 days. Fair taxes on millions in assets and inheritances are long overdue so that even the super-rich can make their fair contribution and reduce the burden on labor income. And the fight against child poverty must finally be a priority: no child in Austria should be hungry,” said Breiteneder, who emphasized that the SPÖ will do everything in its power to win the “Match for Austria”.
