SOS Miensch warns more commitment to the protection of Austrian democracy on the occasion of the international international day of democracy. “The fact that we can live in a democracy is a hard-fought stroke of luck and a huge chance. We should never give up again. Therefore, it is important to make our democracy even more resistant, more lively, solidary and inclusive,” SOS fellow human beings Pollak sees acute need for action. “Democracy is not perfect, yet something great. It is the only form of government with general freedom and fundamental rights, functioning rule of law, trustworthy media, a free civil society as well as protection against political, racist or religious persecution. All of this is not a matter of course and not a self-run, but to fight for the continued existence and the improvement of democracy,” said SOS spokesman Pollak.
