In the middle of everyday urban life, directly at the Zgonc location at Hadikgasse in Vienna 14, the largest public high-speed loading park of the federal capital was opened. The project was realized by Austria’s largest quick charging infrastructure operator SMATRICS EnBW as part of a location partnership with the Austrian retail company ZGONC.
The new loading park currently offers twelve ultra -fast load points with a charging power of up to 400 kW – this means that up to 400 kilometers can be charged in just 15 minutes. Open around the clock, with a transparent and up-to-date display of the ad hoc price per kilowatt hour, it is a prime example of modern, customer-close charging infrastructure. The location can also be expanded to a total of 16 charging points. “We always plan our charging parks with a foresight”
explains Thomas Landsbek, CEO of SMATRICS ENBW. “With the possibility of supplementing further charging points, we can expand existing systems quickly and cost -effective if the demand increases.”
Planable, scalable, future fit
Already 75 percent of all ways in Vienna are now covered in an environmentally friendly manner – i.e. on foot, by bike or by public transport. The aim is to make the remaining 25 percent, which are statistically covered by car, as possible. In a densely built -up city like Vienna, the use of existing areas for a well -developed quick charging infrastructure is therefore of central importance. “We want to enable mobility where life takes place-right in front of our markets. The new loading park is another important step for our charging infrastructure expansion program. In the next two years we are planning to expand around 130 charging points to ZGONC locations throughout Austria”
explain zgonc-business fry michael dockel. “This is how we not only create a service for our customers: inside, but also make an active contribution to the energy transition.”
Vienna is very well positioned in the area of normal shops with more than 2,800 charging points, but loading times of up to five hours in everyday urban life are often not practical. There are also fewer home charging options available in large cities. Quick and ultra-fast loading points are therefore the key to make electromobility suitable for everyday use. “With over 30 ultra -fast load points in Vienna until 2026, we not only create an attractive offer for customers in the area of quick charging: inside of ZGONC, but also make an important contribution to promoting electromobility”
according to Hauke Hinrichs, COO of SMATRICS ENBW. All loading points from SMATRICS ENBW are operated with 100 percent green electricity.
