A total of 130 charging points will be built at 18 locations by 2026. “The collaboration with ZGONC shows how companies can work together to advance sustainable mobility solutions. With 130 charging points by 2026, we are not only creating an attractive offer for ZGONC customers, but are also making an important contribution to promoting electromobility
“, says Thomas Landsbek, CEO of SMATRICS EnBW, pleased.
ZGONC is massively expanding its e-charging infrastructure and is focusing on speed twice as much: To achieve this, an average of around five charging points per month will be set up by SMATRICS EnBW by 2026. So-called high-power chargers are used, i.e. ultra-fast charging stations with an output of up to 400 kW with a direct payment terminal. These offer maximum comfort and flexibility for e-mobilists: Depending on the power consumption of their vehicle, customers can charge electricity for a range of up to 400 kilometers in just 15 minutes. Payment is made easily with the SMATRICS charging card directly at the charging station or via card payment with VISA, Mastercard, Google Pay or Apple Pay.
Michael Dockal, ZGONC business manager, explains: “We as ZGONC have always relied on innovative ideas. That’s why we focused on cordless tools a few years ago and thus positioned our range perfectly for today. Since transport is now becoming more and more electric, one of the next logical steps for us was to make our contribution to expanding the charging network in Austria. We are happy to make our parking spaces available for cooperation with SMATRICS EnBW and are sure that we can also offer our customers further added value. We look forward to many successful years of collaboration with SMATRICS EnBW.”
The first charging location at ZGONC in Brunn am Gebirge is already in operation
The charging infrastructure is currently in operation at the first of 38 ZGONC locations. This is located in Brunn am Gebirge, near the Westfield Shopping City and the A21 motorway. Four state-of-the-art charging points with an output of up to 400 kW are available to customers. “We are seeing a sharp increase in demand for e-charging infrastructure, especially in retail. With the state-of-the-art charging points, we bring e-mobility to where it is needed every day. Customers can charge reliably and, above all, quickly while shopping.”
explains Landsbek.
The other charging locations are spread across ZGONC branches in the federal states of Vienna, Lower Austria, Upper Austria, Styria and Carinthia. These will go into operation step by step until 2026. SMATRICS EnBW operates all of its fast charging points with 100 percent green electricity.
