Today, Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter filed a motion to dismiss the anonymous lawsuit filed by attorney Tony Buzbee to not reveal the plaintiff’s identity. The motion filed by Carter’s attorney Alex Spiro specifically requests that the identity of the Jane Doe is disclosed so that he can legally defend himself against this false claim in a transparent manner.
The motion claims that Buzbee has not currently provided an affidavit or specific factual information to justify the case or anonymity.
Carter’s attorneys describe Buzbee as someone “dedicated to obtaining large settlements from a variety of celebrities, high net worth individuals and corporations associated in any way with Sean Combs.”
Additionally, the motion notes that Buzbee “has a history of targeting celebrities by making false claims of misconduct” and that the case against Carter “involves retaliation against the rare target who doesn’t pay up.” wanted.” The lawsuit describes the allegations as “merely the next chapter in Attorney Buzbee’s unfolding extortion saga.”
On December 6, Buzbee requested a temporary restraining order against Carter’s attorneys, which the judge ultimately denied.
The motion also notes that Carter “does not have to defend himself in the brightest spotlight against an accuser who hides in complete darkness while making allegations.”
Carter previously issued a statement on Sunday vehemently denying Buzbee’s allegations:
“These allegations are so heinous that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil lawsuit! Anyone who commits such a crime against a minor should be locked up, don’t you agree? If that were the case, these alleged victims would have deserved real justice.”
