SES will invest over EUR 30 million in modernization and an innovative health park with the Vinzenz Group in SILLPARK from 2025 Vinzenz Group Hospital Participation

The SILLPARK shopping center in Innsbruck, which welcomes over 5 million visitors a year and is the largest in terms of area in Innsbruck, is being modernized during ongoing operations and supplemented with a special innovation: for the first time in Austria, a health park is being built on an area of over 3,000 m² in a shopping mall. This is made possible as part of the recently agreed cooperation between the SPAR subsidiary SES Spar European Shopping Centers and the Vinzenz Group as one of the leading experts for healthcare facilities. The health park in SILLPARK will strengthen regional healthcare for the residents of Innsbruck and marks the Austria-wide start of the cooperation. The health park is part of a large-scale modernization of the entire shopping mall. SILLPARK owner SES is investing a total of over 30 million euros in a timeless, modern spatial experience throughout the entire location.

In September 2024, an application was made for the relevant building permits to the responsible magistrate of the city of Innsbruck, and preparations are underway for a planned start of construction in mid-2025. Once the official approvals have been received, the renovation project will begin immediately; completion of the modernization and the official opening of the health park are planned for autumn 2026.

Strengthening regional health care

At the end of July, Austria’s market-leading shopping center operator SES and the Vinzenz Group Service signed a partnership agreement to jointly develop long-term service-oriented health parks at selected SES shopping locations and to sustainably strengthen health care. The first of these health parks is now being built on an area of 3,000 m² on the second floor of the SILLPARK in Innsbruck and is thus making a significant contribution to regional health care.

Spatial opening of the mall in SILLPARK for even more spatial experience

The focus of the modernization measures in the shopping mall under the motto “fresh, young, trendy” is a redesign that, in addition to the latest technology, also includes a spatial loosening of the SILLPARK building. For example, in the future there will be even more natural daylight in areas that are currently artificially lit. The shopping center will remain in full operation during the renovation.

Christoph Andexlinger, CEO SES Spar European Shopping Centers:

“In addition to the strong, highly professional partnerships with our shop operators, restaurateurs and service providers, the key success factors of our shopping destinations are also the optimal location, perfect accessibility by public transport and the large number of parking spaces, as SILLPARK clearly illustrates. Many things that are good for health will complement the industry mix in Sillpark in the future. With this step towards multifunctionality, we are keeping the popular, highly frequented SILLPARK in the middle of Innsbruck fit for the future.”

Michael Heinisch, CEO of the Vinzenz Group:

“We have to build modern and sustainable healthcare where people spend their everyday lives. The SES shopping malls are meeting and living spaces in which we can provide the population with health and prevention offers in a simple and uncomplicated manner. With the starting signal in SILLPARK, the first major milestone of the joint venture is now being initiated in Innsbruck,” says Michael Heinisch, CEO of the Vinzenz Group, pleased about the collaboration.

About the Vinzenz Group Service and its health parks

Since 2015, the Vinzenz Group has been developing and operating service health parks around the hospital locations in which the Vinzenz Group is involved. These health parks are regional networks in which hospitals, practicing doctors, nursing staff, therapists, pharmacies, rehabilitation and care facilities as well as medical specialist shops provide holistic care and support to people in all questions of health and illness. The collaboration between the independent partners is ensured through cooperation agreements and a common understanding of quality and values. For each location, the partners and their collaboration are supported by local health park management. Around 350 partners in seven health parks in Upper Austria and Vienna are already working together successfully – from small time-sharing practices to large hospitals. With the founding of TWOmorrow Gesundheit GmbH, Vinzenz Gruppe Service GmbH, together with SES, is now developing health parks for the first time in federal states in which it does not operate hospitals, rehabilitation or care facilities.
