ServusTV is making television history in a record year

2024 is the most successful year to date for ServusTV and also marks a new record: never before has an Austrian private broadcaster achieved an annual market share of over 5% in the E12+ base. The Salzburg station achieves an annual market share of 5,3 % (+ 1.0 percentage points compared to the previous year) and in the E12-49 target group an annual market share of 5,2 % (+1.9 percentage points compared to the previous year). In 2024, ServusTV will be the third strongest station in both target groups in Austria.

The best month last year was June: with a monthly market share of 14.5%, ServusTV was the market leader in the young target group (E12-49) this month. In the basic range (E12+), ServusTV achieved a market share of 11.3% in June, making it the second strongest channel in Austria.

ServusTV On ended the year with around 85 million video views (+35% compared to the previous year) and over 2 billion minutes watched (+90% compared to 2023), also with record values.

UEFA EURO 2024: The Austrians make television history in the round of 16
In total, ServusTV reached 6.2 million Austrians with its broadcast of UEFA EURO 2024 last summer. Outstanding: the Austrian national team’s round of 16 game against Turkey. The broadcast achieved record market shares of 72.5% in the base (E12+) and 82.0% in the target group (E12-49) on ServusTV and reached an unprecedented 2.46 million viewers for a football broadcast in Austria. This makes the broadcast the most successful TV program on Austrian television in 18 years. On ServusTV On, the match achieved another 1.25 million video views and 37 million watched minutes.

And ServusTV was also able to impress last year alongside a major sporting event such as the UEFA EURO 2024. The following formats performed particularly well in the E12+ base on an annual average:

  • Goodbye news: 9.4% market share (+ 1 percentage point)
  • Goodbye weather: 8.8% market share (+ 0.9 percentage point)
  • Hello in the evening: 8.1% market share (+ 0.02 percentage points)
  • Home lights: 6.5% market share (+ 0.6 percentage points)
  • Left.Right.Center: 5.5% market share (+ 1 percentage point)
  • Mountain worlds: 4.7% market share (+ 0.6 percentage points)
  • Servus Sport Aktuell: 4.1% market share (+ 0.6 percentage points)

All of the formats mentioned recorded growth compared to the previous year in 2023 and achieved their best year on record.

The most successful shows on the main evening outside of sports include:

  • “Monika Gruber – The Finale” with a market share of 20.8% (E12) and 17.2% (E12-49) with an average of 546,000 viewers
  • The ServusTV original “Last Jodler – The fifth Altaussee crime thriller”: 13% (E12+) and 10.1% (E12-49) with an average of 310,000 viewers
  • “Home Lights – Change in the Karwendel”: 10.7% (E12+) and 8.8% (E12-49) with an average of 248,000 viewers.

The most successful sports broadcasts outside of UEFA EURO 2024 include:

  • The Formula 1 home Grand Prix at Spielberg at the end of June with an average of 767,000 viewers and a market share of 54.4% (E12+) and 61.7% (E12-49). In addition, the Formula 1 broadcasts on ServusTV achieved their most successful year in the target group (E12-49) with an average market share of 43.9%.
  • MotoGP – Dutch Grand Prix also at the end of June with 28.4% (E12+) and 29.3% (E12-49) market share and an average of 302,000 viewers. 2024 is also the most successful year for the MotoGP races on ServusTV in both groups, with an average market share of over 14% each.

2024: Top at ServusTV On

  • The most streamed live sporting event on ServusTV On in 2024 was UEFA EURO 2024 with over 13 million views.
  • The most streamed show: “Der Wegscheider” from January 20th with 171,000 views, closely followed by the documentary “The Last Dance? Monika Gruber personally” with 166,000 views.
  • The most streamed series was “Der Wegscheider” with a total of 4.4 million views.

December odds
With a monthly market share of 4,4 % (+ 0.9 percentage points compared to 2023) in the base E12+ and 3,8 % In the target group (+ 0.3 percentage points compared to 2023), ServusTV is also at the top of the Austrian private broadcasters in December and is recording clear growth compared to the same month last year. ServusTV On achieved 2.6 million video views and 65,000 watched minutes in December. One of the most successful programs is the Servus Nachrichten with 350,000 views. On ServusTV in December, the ServusTV original “Die Liesl von der Post – Jugendsünden” was convincing: 7.9% (E12+) and 5.9% (E12-49) market share with an average of 195,000 viewers. And the second case, “Rattlestork,” also achieved an 8.4% market share in the E12+ base (6.9% E12-49), with an average of 199,000 viewers.
