SERMATEC, a pioneer in the field of renewable energy, has launched an innovative 5.1MW/17.8MWh commercial and industrial energy storage system in Bulgaria. This groundbreaking project will transform the local energy landscape by improving solar energy efficiency and promoting economic growth.
Our customer, who operates a photovoltaic system, faced major challenges because he was generating too much solar power that could not be stored sufficiently. This resulted in electricity being wasted during the day and people being forced to draw electricity from the grid at night. To offset the imbalance between supply and demand caused by overproduction, our solutions not only help prevent negative prices associated with overproduction, but also enable customers to actively participate in the electricity market. With a storage capacity of over 6.5 million kWh per year, the system ensures a more balanced and economically viable energy ecosystem.
At the heart of our innovation are 48 units of SERMATEC EasyCube Series 372 kWh energy storage systems. This cabinet-sized solution improves space efficiency and ensures operational flexibility, setting a new standard in energy storage. Each component is the result of careful development and manufacturing and reflects our commitment to excellence. Powered by advanced 3.2V 280Ah LFP batteries, our system is not only safe and reliable, but also offers up to 99% conversion efficiency and a lifespan of over 15 years. This is more than a storage solution; it is a testament to our pursuit of technical excellence. This project will offset solar overproduction and promote the region’s environmentally friendly, low-carbon development.
This project uses the EMS system developed by SERMATEC itself, which integrates PV power generation to achieve self-consumption of solar power and energy storage. The EMS not only stores excess solar energy, but also controls energy consumption during peak and off-peak times. We have further improved the control based on the cloud platform so that our customers can monitor the operation of the energy storage system in real time.
The BMS system independently developed by SERMATEC is used in this project. With an intelligent management plan, the safety of energy storage batteries is ensured while extending their lifespan, enabling customers to use energy efficiently.
