After the Federal Administrative Court has declared the telemedicine advertisement of the Austrian Health Insurance Fund (ÖGK) nullified, the Federal Coury of Doctors invites the health insurance fund to now tackle the topic together in the interests of the patients instead of further resources in unnecessary solo courses. “I am convinced that we will find a solution together that guarantees the optimal care of the patients. We do not need any new parallel structures for this. As with the upcoming discussions about the overall contract, our hand for serious negotiations is also stretched out and we are very happy to work on a solution,” says Edgar Wutscher, Vice President of the Austrian Chamber of Applied Sciences and Chairman of the Federal Curial.
“We have always stated and can also prove with numbers that doctors of telemedicine are positive. In addition, the numerous elaborated projects such as teledermatology in Styria or the Herzmobil model, for which more and more federal states, are interested,” emphasizes Dietmar Bayer, deputy chairman of the Federal Cendrium and Vice President of the Medical Association for Stadtmark.
