The two Lower Austria premieres of “Trog – An Austrian Family Story”, a documentary by Ella Hochleitner about memories of life in a now abandoned farmhouse on September 5th including a conversation with the director, and “Veni vidi vici”, a capitalism grotesque about a married couple who kill themselves for their own amusement, on September 11th, including a conversation with the directing team Daniel Hoesl and Juliane Niemann, are the focus of next month’s film program at the Cinema Paradiso St. Pölten. Another film premiere is “Caritas in Pakistan – Insights into a Hidden Country” on September 19th, including a panel discussion with filmmaker Thomas Hadinger, Mervyn Lobo from MALC and Christoph Riedl and Sabine Wartha from Caritas Austria.

On the occasion of his 80th birthday, Peter Turrini will also be in focus in September: On September 3rd and 8th, the portrait “Peter Turrini. Return to my starting point” will be shown, and the film adaptation of the play “Maybe in another life” by Silke Hassler and Peter Turrini will be shown on September 10th and 22nd. On September 4th, the doctor, biologist and author Martin Grassberger will give a lecture on the topic “Regenerative. Departure into a new ecological age”, on September 17th, desert runner Helmut Tschellnig will talk about his extreme sports adventures such as the “Track Namibia”.

The “Cinema Wunschkino” will show “Easy Rider” with Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper in the original language with subtitles on September 22nd. On Monday afternoons, the “Film Café” will again be serving coffee, cake and the films “Two to One” (September 2nd), “What Does the Lama Want with the Gun” (September 9th), and “Love Letters from Nice” (September 16th), “The Glory of Life” (September 23rd) and “Adieu Chérie” (September 30th). On September 24th, “Film, Wine + Enjoyment” combines “Always Again Tuesday” and “The Land of a Thousand Wines” with regional delicacies from Kirchberg and wines from Wagram/Traismauer.

The live program includes, among other things, the “Scottish Colors” concert with Norrie Tago MacIver and Ryan Young on September 12th, a “Silent Disco” with the DJs Miss Marple and Robert Trömer as part of the St. Pöltner Höfefest with free admission on September 21st. September and a live silent film soundtrack of “Sherlock and the Last Dog” by Gerhard Gruber and Ralph Turnheim on September 25th.
