Seidl: “No reform, no progress-hacker cuts out surcharges, but protects 700 million pots for non-Austrians!”
Vienna (OTS) –

The social spokesman for the Vienna FPÖ, LAbg. Wolfgang Seidl, finds clear words to the measure presented by SPÖ city councilor Peter Hacker in the area of minimum security: “What Hacker presents as an alleged reform is not a reform, but a political deception. In reality, he only implements a long-decided federal process-without changing the actual abuses in Vienna.”

Seidl points out that Vienna still releases around 700 million euros in minimum security to non-Austrians annually: “Vienna remains the largest social magnet for asylum immigrants across Austria. The fact that subsidiary protection persons still receive the same services as Austrian citizens is a scandal.”

The Viennese FPÖ therefore calls for an immediate course correction: Subsidiary beneficiaries should only receive benefits of basic services – but not the full minimum security.

“This is in Hacker’s responsibility and could be implemented with a simple decision. But obviously he lacks the political will,” said Seidl. (Ending)
